Also known as police background checks, good conduct certificates, a police certificate may be issued for many reasons such as work, visa applications, adoption, etc.
All verifications are done in the National Criminal Records repository through the Canadian police information center (CPIC) which is generated and maintained by the royal Canadian mounted police (RCMP). The Client information collected by Identification Canada inc. and the name-based criminal police check requests are to be submitted to Canadian law enforcement agencies to perform police checks. Identification Canada inc. establishes and maintains the required infrastructure and channels for submitting name-based criminal police check requests to the agencies with the hit/no-hit responses routed back to client / company
Forms of identification accepted for the police certificate (good conduct certificate):
Driver’s license (foreign driver’s license accepted)
Medicare (health care)
Provincial identification card
If you do not have the original documentation, ONLY CERTIFIED COPIES will be accepted.
The fees for the police certificate (good conduct certificate) are $55* payable cash or debit and can take approximately 7 to 10 regular days to receive at home by mail.
There is also an expedited service which is $60. Delays are 1 to 2 business days.
